TOP-UPS DON'T COUNT AS "PROFIT"
When you add more money to an investment, it's tracked separately from market growth. Your gain/loss percentage always compares your current value against what you've actually put in — not against money you just deposited.

UPDATE REGULARLY, SPOT DRIFT EARLY
Every value update and top-up is logged with a date, so you can see how each investment has moved over time. Checking in regularly — monthly is plenty — helps you notice if one investment has grown to dominate your portfolio.

This tool never fetches real accounts, brokers or market prices. Every investment value shown is only as accurate as the last time you clicked "↻ UPDATE VALUE" on it — it will not move on its own. (The one exception is the display-currency dropdown above, which does use a real, regularly-refreshed exchange rate purely to convert what's shown on screen — it never changes your stored investment values.)

Use "+ ADD FUNDS" only for money you're putting in; use "↻ UPDATE VALUE" to reprice what something is worth today. Mixing the two up will show a fake gain or loss. Just moved money between investments (rebalancing)? Use Update Value, then hit "reset" on that card so the shuffle doesn't show as a fake gain/loss either.
